MacBook Pro flexgate repair in Monterrey

Flexgate is a known fault of 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models (13 and 15 inch): the flexible cable that carries the backlight to the display wears down with every lid opening until the light starts to fail. The screen is not broken: the flex is what fails. Does my MacBook have flexgate or a damaged display?

If the display was not hit and the light started failing suddenly or when opening the lid, flexgate is most likely. If it was dropped or cracked, it is a different fault. We confirm it in the diagnosis before quoting.
